Built by engineers, for environments that can't fail
We design, build, and integrate the security technology that mission-critical operations depend on.
Our background
DataGarden principals Clint Harvey and John Moody, Ph.D., both graduates of West Virginia University, began working together in 2002, leading the software and engineering divisions of a small business that designed and built patented interoperability technologies. Their work powered monitoring and control systems in the electric utility industry, advanced security for US borders, international airports, and military bases, and core technology for US Navy and US Air Force UAV programs.
Their interoperability technology became the security backbone for multiple Fortune 500 companies, including Cisco Systems, Rolta International, and Intergraph Corporation, the world's largest provider of 911 computer-aided dispatch systems. In 2006, they began working with Min-Hua Wang on security at international airports and army bases. In 2010, the company was acquired by Hexagon AB, the multinational industrial technology company headquartered in Stockholm and publicly traded on the Nasdaq Stockholm exchange.
Together with Min-Hua Wang, Clint and John continued their work across the globe, expanding their technologies into metrology in Germany, automated mining and agriculture in Switzerland, and dam control systems in Canada, China, and Russia, all while extending airport, border, and perimeter security solutions throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.
In 2014, Clint and John decided to return to their small-business engineering roots and spend more time with their families. Working directly with the CEO and CTO of Hexagon AB to develop a transition plan, they founded DataGarden Inc. In 2020, Min-Hua Wang joined DataGarden to lead product management, and in 2023, Nick Matheny joined DataGarden to lead system deployments and implementation.
What we believe
DataGarden's core priority is simple: the safety of the individual.
From day one, we decided not to be a vendor of technologies, but a partner and advisor to organizations that share this belief. We work alongside our partners on the continual advancement of focused safety and security solutions that protect staff, students, and clients.
Over the years, we've grown our partner network without losing that focus, adding key leaders, team members, and strategic relationships built on the same conviction. Today, DataGarden operates from offices in Morgantown (WV), Reston (VA), and Miami (FL).
